HeritageRail Alliance’s Fall Conference in Minneapolis
The HeritageRail Alliance Conference brings together the top railroad museum preservationists
and tourist train operators. The Minnesota Streetcar Museum will be hosting this engaging event and registration is now open. Full conference registration includes seminars, rail, and streetcar site visits, a dinner event, and more. Check out the conference schedule for more details. Visit http://www.atrrm.org for more information and the full conference registration form.
The theme for the conference this year is branding, an essential part of building the ridership and visitor experience at every museum and tourist railroad. There will be a series of seminars on this and other topics.
Optional pre-conference trips include Duluth & Northeastern 2-8-0 #28 on the North Shore Scenic Railroad run to Two Harbors or a Streetcar History tour of the Twin Cities.
During the conference we’ll ride on the 70-foot wood steamboat Minnehaha, powered by a rare triple expansion steam engine, as well as the Osceola & St. Croix Valley Railroad. We’ll visit the Minnesota Transportation Museum’s Jackson Street Roundhouse and we’ll visit and ride on the trolleys at the Minnesota Streetcar Museum’s Como-Harriet and Excelsior Streetcar Lines.
If you live near the Twin Cities, you’ve probably visited the Como-Harriet Streetcar Line and the Jackson Street Roundhouse and don’t want to pay the $300 registration fee to visit them again. If so, we’re offering an opportunity to attend the conference seminars, network with the experts and meet our industry vendors, for the bargain price of $40.
Seminars will be held at the Loews Downtown hotel in Minneapolis, located one block south of the Warehouse District-Hennepin light rail station. Seminars will start at 8:30 AM and conclude at noon on Thursday and Friday, October 5th and 6th. The seminar topics are listed below. A more detailed schedule will be provided to registrants as we get closer to the conference.
Registration for the full conference is through the HeritageRail Alliance website, registration for the seminar only package can be downloaded and mailed in.
