The title of this book grew out of a conversation that the author had with a railfan who claimed that the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway never had any trackage in Nebraska, The Santa Fe’s physical presence in the Cornhusker state was very limited and therefore very easy to overlook. However, the approximate 1.3 miles of track extending from the Kansas state line to the only town in Nebraska that the AT&SF served can undeniably be ranked high among those traffic corridors which greatly contributed to the company’s financial coffers during its long history.
