Beautiful Lakewood Cemetery is the perfect setting to honor our nation’s veterans. Ride the streetcar right to the Lake Calhoun gate, open only once each year for this special event. Stay as long as you like before catching the trolley back to Linden Hills.

Bring Dad for a free ride on his special day. Visit our carbarn and see where the streetcars are maintained and repaired.

 


PJ Party


Thursdays, June 15, July 20, and August 17

6 PM & 7 PM
$5 per passenger

Put on your jammies and grab your best bear. Then head for the Linden Hills Station at Lake Harriet for the PJ Party. We’ll start with milk and cookies on the platform, then board the streetcar for a trip down the line. We’ll stop for a bedtime story from a noted children’s author before we return to the station. The event lasts about 45 minutes. In the event of rain the PJ Party will be postponed to the following Thursday.

There’s a murder aboard the trolley on the Como-Harriet Streetcar Line and you’re a witness. Who did it and why? Help solve the crime. The trip lasts about 45 minutes.

Owl Service

$5 Unlimited Rides (children 3 and under free)

During the streetcar era, cars ran throughout the night carrying passengers to and from jobs and seeing them home safely after an evening on the town. Families with children might ride to let the gentle motion and cooling breezes lull a child to sleep. Experience Owl Service! Bring a date or bring the whole family. Bring a pillow. Bring a snack. Single ride Fare $2. Unlimited ride Owl Pass is just $5.. Children 3 and under are free.

Streetcar Camp for Kids

Thursday, August 10 9 AM to 1 PM

Tuition: $49

For kids 6 to 11 who love streetcars! We’ll spend the morning learning all about track, motors, and controls. We’ll see how the crew does their jobs. Then each child will have the unique opportunity to climb into the Motorman’s seat and run the car down the line. Enrollment is limited to about a dozen children.

Labor Day

Farmer Ken and Jan’s Pumpkin Patch

Take a trolley ride and bring home a Halloween pumpkin. Riders get off the car at the “pumpkin patch” where they can search for just the right pumpkin. There are no advance tickets or reservations.

Ghost Trolley: Witches’ Moon

Ride through the haunted glen under the Witches’ Moon when spirits sway and creatures croon. Will the haints materialize? This all new event is suitable for most family members  there’s no blood or gore ― but may be frightening for the very young. There are no advance tickets or reservations.

Count Karl the Vampire Motorman is your host for this Halloween trip. Not scary just silly. Wear a costume and get a treat. The ride is about 15 minutes and no advance ticket or reservation is required.

Celebrate the serenity and beauty of a Minnesota winter night. Our historic streetcar is decorated inside and out with lights and seasonal greens, and hundreds of luminaries light the right-of-way. Cozy up to the fire and toast  a marshmallow. Will Santa make an appearance? This is a rare opportunity to experience the night in a whole new light.
