PJ Party

Put on your jammies and grab your best bear. Then head for the Linden Hills Station at Lake Harriet for the PJ Party. We’ll start with milk and cookies on the platform, then board the streetcar for a trip down the line. We’ll stop for a bedtime story from a noted children’s author or illustrator before we return to the station. The event lasts about 45 minutes.
The PJ Party is presented in partnership with Wild Rumpus Books in Linden Hills. Tickets for each month’s event go on sale the first day of that month.

Owl Service

During the streetcar era, cars ran throughout the night carrying passengers to and from jobs and seeing them home safely after an evening on the town. Families with children might ride to let the gentle motion and cooling breezes lull a child to sleep. Experience Owl Service! Bring a date or bring the whole family. Bring a pillow. Bring a snack.

Streetcar Murder Mystery

Streetcar Camp for Kids
Tuition: $49
For kids 6 to 11 who love streetcars! We’ll spend the morning learning all about track, motors, and controls. We’ll see how the crew does their jobs. Then each child will have the unique opportunity to climb into the Motorman’s seat and run the car down the line. Enrollment is limited to about a dozen children.

Streetcar Camp II
Tuition: $49
For kids 11 to 15 who want to learn more about streetcars and how they operate. Much of the morning will be spent with each child running the car along the Como-Harriet line. Campers will use all controls, including the air brake, under the supervision of Museum Operators. Enrollment is limited to about a dozen children.

Farmer Ken and Jan’s Pumpkin Patch

Take a trolley ride and bring home a Halloween pumpkin. Riders get off the car at the “pumpkin patch” where they can search for just the right pumpkin. Streetcars make frequent trips to the pumpkin patch. There are no advance tickets or reservations.

Travel through the dark forest aboard a spooky trolley. What fate awaits those foolish enough to ride to the end of the line? This event is suitable for most family members ― there’s no blood or gore ― but may be frightening for the very young. And the later it gets, the more frightening the ride becomes. There are no advance tickets or reservations.

Spirits on a Streetcar

TCRT Streetcar No. 1300 was in service for 46 years. Think of the stories it might have to tell. Take a ride with seasoned paranormal investigators on the historic Minneapolis trolley this Halloween and see if there are any spirits who join us! We’ll be using real investigation equipment to identify any possible paranormal activity on this historic streetcar during the time of year when the veil between worlds is the thinnest.
Experienced investigator, Heidi Steffens, will show you a few how to’s in paranormal Investigating. We’ll travel past the lakes and along Lakewood Cemetery while the night surrounds us in hopes of speaking to someone from beyond. This is an exclusive 90-minute special event with limited seating.

Holly Trolley
Fare $5 per passenger
Take a streetcar ride with Santa, then toast a marshmallow and warm yourself by a friendly fire. Boy Scouts will offer hot drinks, s’mores kits, and hot dogs for sale. The historic streetcar is decked out for the holidays. The ride is about 25 minutes — so Santa has time to visit with each child. Tickets are trip specific so you won’t have to stand in line. Tickets go on sale for just that day beginning about 11:30 AM in the Linden Hills station. At 11:30 you can buy tickets for any ride that day.
