Few roads of this size have owned such a variety of steam locomotives. Among them were the D&IR’s fleet of 30 big,clean-lined 4-8-0’s, one of which was exhibited by Schenectady at the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago. This book covers the D&IR motive power for 1883 – 1900, the DM&N motive power from 1892 – 1903. Also included are chapters on Mikados and Santa Fes, passenger power, switch engines and diesels.
