The Muni was a streetcar system with fender buses until the early 1940s when trolley coaches were added in small numbers. With the merger of 1944, combining the Muni with the privately owned Market Street Railway, came cable cars and a much larger bus fleet. 270 pages illustrated with black and white photos throughout the book.
